CBN sells forex to BDCs at N1,251/$1

  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued a circular to Bureau De Change (BDC) operators informing them that $10,000 have been made available to each BDC at a rate of N1,251 per US dollar. The CBN made this known in a circular issued. The apex bank also reportedly instructed each BDC to sell the dollars to eligible customers at a rate not exceeding 1.5% above the purchase price. "We refer to our letter to you referenced TED/DIR/CON/ GOM/001/071 in respect of the above subject wherein the CB approved a second tranche of sale of FX to eligible BDCs. We write to inform you of the sale of $10,000 to each BDC at the rate of N1, 251/$1.   The Nigerian National  Petroleum  Company Limited (NNPCL) has decided to crash the depot price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, from N640 per litre to N570 per litre.     Abubakar Maigandi, the National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), confirmed the new price nothing that NNPC. The Nation reports that independent marketers paid for the product at the new petrol price last week. In February, the Federal Government detained the two senior executives of Binance.   The West African Examinations Council, Nigeria, on Friday, released results of the first-ever Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates, 2024-First Series.  The council commenced migration from traditional paper-based examinations to Computer-Based Examinations for its private candidates' examinations. A statement by the council made available to PUNCH Online added that the novel CB-WASSCE entailed using a hybrid method where all questions were projected on the computer.
