TOPLINE Tesla CEO Elon Musk is once again the second-wealthiest person in the world and wealthiest person in the U.S. as of Wednesday morning, as he and Amazon founder and chairman Jeff Bezos continue to go back-and-forth for the title.

Musk’s estimated net worth was up by $815 million Wednesday morning, while Bezos’ net worth fell by about $558 million, according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires tracker.


Forbes estimates Musk to be worth about $193.6 billion as of 1 p.m. EDT Wednesday, and we estimate Bezos to be worth about $193.6 billion.


Bernard Arnault, CEO of the LVMH empire, remains the wealthiest person in the world per Forbes’ list, with a net worth of about $231.1 billion as of Wednesday.

1.3%. That’s how much Tesla’s stock was up Wednesday afternoon. In comparison, Amazon’s stock price had fallen 0.6% to about $175 per share.
