South Korean Billionaire to pay $1bn to ex-wife in divorce settlement

Image
South Korean tycoon Chey Tae-won has been ordered to pay his ex-wife, Roh So-young, a record 1.38 trillion won ($1 billion; £788 million) in cash, marking the largest divorce settlement in the country’s history. The Seoul High Court’s decision on Thursday comes nearly a decade after the collapse of Chey’s 35-year marriage, following the revelation that he had fathered a child with his lover. The court determined that Roh was entitled to a portion of Chey’s company shares, a significant increase from the 66.5 billion won settlement awarded by a lower court in 2022. Chey Tae Won, who serves as chairman of the SK Group conglomerate, plans to appeal the decision. His lawyers argue that the court accepted "Roh's one-sided claim as factual." The High Court's ruling reversed the lower court's decision, which had previously denied Roh's request for a portion of Chey's SK shares. In its verdict, the court stated that "it was reasonable to rule that, as his w

The change of national anthem, ‘Nigeria, we hail thee’,” Tinubu said. “Some people say, okay… say what? Is that your priority? It’s my priority. I agree with the national assembly. If they make law, I’ve got to obey that law, or we disagree openly and close the chapter.” Tinubu said Nigeria’s diversity should be protected and celebrated, adding that the country’s population should not be seen as a burden.

Three people spot en rapper Lil Baby's music video set

Image
Three people have been shot on music set of popular American rapper, Lil Baby, in Atlanta. The shooting began from what sounds like a semi-automatic weapon firing relentlessly for about 6 seconds while dozens of staffers and people were setting up filming equipment on Tuesday afternoon. The camera man ducked for cover and the video got shaky as he pointed the lens toward the ground, but the background conversation fills in a bit of the story's blanks. A group of men apparently were pretending to film a music video or content of their own nearby and fired. shots from a white car before they sped off. Someone off camera can be heard commending them for the deceit, claiming the gunmen "played it smooth." More gunshots can be heard blasting not too long after the initial shooting but someone advises the man to put his firearm away, the assailants were long gone, and he was wasting bullets shooting at no one. When the police responded to reports of shots fired in the shoppin
