  President Tinubu declares security emergency, orders massive police and army recruitments President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared a nationwide security emergency following the increasing spate of attacks carried out by bandits, terrorists and other assailants across the country. In a national statement released on Wednesday night, the President said the scale and intensity of recent security breaches demand an urgent, coordinated response, adding that "the times require all hands on deck." Under the new directive, the Nigeria Police Force (NPC) has been authorised to recruit an additional 20,000 officers, raising its ongoing recruitment drive to 50,000 personnel. The Nigerian Army has also received approval for expanded enlistment to reinforce troops across various theatres of operation.   Popular Nollywood actor, Odira Nwobu, dles in South Africa Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden demise of actor, Odira Nwobu. Confirming the tragic incident to LIB, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, said Odira and eight other influencers travelled to South Africa for work when he suddenly passed away in the early hours of today Monday, November 24. Rollas said an autopsy is being awaited to determine the cause of de@th. Unconfirmed reports claim that late Odira suffered High Blood pressure before he suddenly passed away in his room.   Hand Nnamdi Kanu de@th sentence- Prosecution counsel tells judge as court to sentence him by 4.50pm The Federal Government has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to impose the death penalty on Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), following his conviction on seven counts of terrorism. The Federal government through its counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo, made the call after Justice James Omotoso found Kanu guilty on all seven-count terrorism charges. Awomolo urged the court to impose the maximum penalty prescribed under the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act, 2013. He reminded the court that the law mandates a death sentence for several of the offences Kanu was convicted of. "My Lord, consequent upon the conviction, nothing further remains but the lawful imposition of sentence.   UNN student, DJ Brownlex, dies in accident on way to Davido's Enugu concert A student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN) tragically lost his life in a car accident while on his way to Davido's concert in Enugu. Chrisantus Chukwuebuka Nwankwo, popularly known on campus as DJ Brownlex, was a 300-level student from the department of Economics. On Saturday evening, Nov. 1, the bus conveying Chukwuebuka and other students reportedly left for the concert late in the evening "without proper headlights" and crashed into a parked trailer along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway. According to reports, the driver and Chukwuebuka lost their lives on the spot, while others sustained serious injuries. Two 300-level students are unconscious, and a final-year student is battling a severe brain injury. Those injured are currently receiving treatment at Shanahan Hospital, Nsukka.
